HOSPITAL TEXTILE

In hospital textiles, reusable textile products should be preferred, and attention should be paid to the rapidly absorbent, stain-proof and durability features of these products. Washable and reusable products should be considered for staff uniforms, patient-companion sets such as bed sheets, pillowcases, piqué quilts, curtains, sofas, chairs, bath curtains and privacy curtains used in the patient room. It is recommended that all bedding be washed and non-fluffing products.

Upholstery products should be selected from non-fluffing and non-porous products.

"The upholstery products used in patient care areas and curtains should have the same properties as the armchairs, sofas and chairs. Washable, wipeable, non-pilling and anti-static products should be preferred.

Curtains must be resistant to washing 2-3 times a year for at least 5 years.

"Quality Standards Should Be Established. It should be pointed out that hospital textiles are among the most important elements in the fight against infections." Since the examination tables and bed protectors are constantly changing, they should be stain-proof, wipeable, antibacterial, air-permeable but liquid-proof material. Dressings should be disposable items for each patient.

FACTORS AFFECTING TEXTILE'S LIFE

The concern of "getting blood out" comes to the fore when washing clothes in hospitals. Therefore, fabrics also wear out in a short time. If the right product is chosen, washing problems can be solved more easily.

Hospital textile should be washed at 40-70 degrees, and harmful bleach such as bleach should not be used. Easy to wash, stain proof, ironing. If the storage conditions are good and the washing, detergent and water quality is good, the life of the textile is extended. It ends in its normal life.
